Olivais (until 2012, officially “Santa Maria dos Olivais”), is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Lisbon, belonging to the East Zone of the capital. With 51,036 inhabitants (2011), it is one of the most populous parishes in the city of Lisbon.
The parish is included in the eastern part of the city, organized into four major regions: Bairro da Encarnação, the Historic Center (or Olivais Velho), and the neighborhoods of Olivais Norte and Olivais Sul, which in turn are subdivided into several other clusters.
